The Home Depot - Atlanta, Georgia

Mar 2007 - Mar 2008 Contract as SAP Portal Architect

Project Description

Supported multiple portal projects but mainly the SCORE project which was a Core Retail project implementing SAP 2004s (EP7) federated portal for the ~200 Canadian Home Depot stores. This pilot project will be the starting point of the eventual US Retail project. The system includes ERP 2005, SCM, POSDM and BI and integration with legacy systems using XI. The systems use ABAP UME for user persistence and are running on IBM AIX/DB2. The ACS and SCS run on the mainframe for high availability.

The portal landscape includes two portals (Consumer and Producer) for each life cycle (Sandbox, Dev, QA, Training, Performance Testing, and Production). The dual-stack ECC portal will be the consumer portal and will surface BI content using Remote Role assignment to the BI producer portal. Content from SCM and POSDM will be surfaced in addition to BI content in the Consumer portal.

Also, supported CONNECT project which was an HR portal project implementing ESS/MSS with the eventual user count of 340k users.

Responsibilities:

*Enhanced CTS (CTS+) will allow Home Depot to use CTS+ combined with NWDI: Using the CTS for transports of ABAP objects, mixed applications (such as XI) and the NetWeaver Portal and using the NWDI for transports during JAVA-based development. Once the Software components are assembled and exported from the dev server from NWDI, the CTS will take over and Consolidate to QA and Deliver to Production. This allows you to tie ABAP code, Dynpro apps and Portal content into a single transport avoiding manual steps into production.
